2018-2019 Full Season Registration



Club membership to the KW Sertoma Speed Skating Club includes:

  • On-ice instruction and training sessions with certified coaches during all scheduled ice times
  • Ice training times during designated hours based on skater assignment
  • OSSA membership fee
  • Dryland training for T2T and L2C groups

Important for 2018/2019

Make sure this season that you review our Schedule page carefully to see what your skaters’ schedule will be for ice time based on the group they are allocated to. Use the Schedule page frequently to keep on top of scheduled ice times.

Also make note of new registration requirements below with regards to volunteering requirements for the Club.

Additional Costs

For all memberships you can rent Bont and Pass speed skates for the skating season. The rental fee includes skate maintenance and use of the skates for all training sessions, competitions and events. This fee is paid as part of your membership registration if you require skate rental.

If you plan on competing at meets, you can also rent club skin suits for competitions as required. The rental fee includes suit maintenance and use for competitions. Suit rental is paid for separately prior to each competition.


These additional costs are:

  • Skate rental (members only): $125
  • Club skin suit rental (members only): $10 per day


Additional considerations to becoming a member of our club:

  • All members are expected to read and adhere to the policies posted on our Policy page on this website.
  • If you are a student under 25 and registered full time in a university or college  OR you are a Special Olympic Athleteyou should email register@kwspeedskating.com for additional information and options before completing the registration form.
  • You are required to have some speed skating experience prior to registering as a full club member. If you’ve never tried our sport, visit our Learn to Speed Skate registration tab for information on how to sign up for our next Learn to Speed Skate session!
  • If you require financial assistance, be sure to check out the Canadian Tire JumpStart program , KidSport Ontario Assistance Program and Kitchener Sports Associations’ Fee Assistance Program for information on how you can apply to these excellent programs we support in our club.

Registration Submission

To submit your registration and payment electronically:

  1. Complete and sign your registration form along with completed skater medical information forms (one per skater), scan or save them to PDF and email them to register@kwspeedskating.com.
  2. Email transfer your payment in full to treasurer@kwspeedskating.com (use the security password Speedskating).

To submit your registration in person and payment by cheque or cash:

  1. Bring your signed application forms and cheque or cash to our registration night on Wednesday September 5th at 6:30pm, RIM Park by Lion’s Rink. This is also the night for skating fitting and volunteer group signup!

Again this year you are required to select your volunteering for the year. This includes one bingo night per family and one volunteer group for practices per skater group in your family. This volunteer sign up will need to be completed at registration night, and before you or your skaters will be permitted on the ice at first practice in September.

Please make cheques payable to ‘KW Sertoma Speed Skating Club’.

Package includes:

One per skater must be completed for your registration to be accepted.
